It is troubling to me that the Selectmen have started having Selectmen Meetings during the day, without having a secretary present maintaining minutes. If you look at the daytime meeting recordings, the meetings have no secretary, are not formally opened or closed, and they go into executive session.

A land trust appeared before the board to inform them they were a 501c and tax exempt trust. They had been donated 10 acres along the Salmon Falls River and would like to allow public access . This access would be in the form of a walking or X/C ski trail, not camping.

I arrived at 6:24 for the meeting that was posted on the Town website as starting at 7pm. I had observed earlier in the day on the Town website mowing bids were to be opened at 6:45pm so I assumed the meeting might be at 6:45pm. I was wrong..It evidently started at 6:15pm

Selectmen review minor changes in the personnel policy.
A vote was taken on the discontinuance of a portion of Old Center Road. It passed unanimously to be closed and an article will be presented to the public to vote on to accept in June.

The Selectmen have issued public notice of a special meeting tomorrow 3/19/09 at 9:00 am at the Town Hall.
The agenda stated that they will be working on referendums for the June ballot.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
