An informational meeting was scheduled at the Firehouse tonight for the Budget Committee to learn more about the Fire Departments needs for a new Engine. Being a Budget Committee member I was concerned if the meeting was still occurring since this morning when I checked the town website I didn’t see any notice.

This meeting represents the Warrant Article review. The Budget Committee goes down through each of the Warrant Articles asking questions of Selectmen and getting clarification on each of the items.There are 47 Warrant Articles in total.

Sheriff Maurice R. Ouellette outlines the proposal he made to the Selectmen to have a full-time Deputy in town for the next four years and answers questions as posed by the Budget Committee. All Residents should view the first 45 minutes to fully understand this proposal.

(From Previous Meeting) S.T.S. was contacted and they do have someone available to load trucks to meet Highway Dept. Needs.
Budget Committee reverses it’s opinions on closing the Transfer Station for a day as well as any further budget cuts at the Transfer Station.

Observations:

It was  painful to observe the Budget Committee members try to sift through the budget line information. It wastes the Budget Committee’s time trying to figure out what figures are what versus productively reviewing items and asking questions.
