Of course, with the comments, emails, phone calls saying that TOWNSPEOPLE are happy with the way the Selectmen are running the town, I definately will be running and look forward to it very much. I have some great campaign ideas!!

She does not feel it is a response and I would agree. It simply say the item number and will be discussed on such a date – some going out as late as the end of March 20111.

Mister_a is right.. Budget Committee is elected by the people and are supposed to be looking into these types of matters.

In the day and age of cheap and easy information technology, the people’s busniess should be done in a transparaent manner. That’s what I’m saying. I have seen anough to make me ask questions and I’d appreciate answers. That’s all.

But anonymous postings on this site by the two families will only help the town, because they see who is posting it and know to check the facts!

I think Jason was saying that their were responses to the budeget commitee’s written requests and that therefore Glenn’s post saying that there were no responses was not true. I’ve asked Jason to link to the response letters he says he was putting up on the town website so people can find them.

They could simply email them out via the email notification system if they really wanted to push information out or add them to the current minutes folders or upload them to the Facebook page.. there are many avenues.

It is unfortunate, because many people do work and can’t make the meetings and rely on communication avenues to stay abreast. The town has the tools share more…the admin / selectmen choose not to.

Everyone wants a smoother Budget process… There is a not a single person on the Budget Committee who would not support that. This matter is about information access on expenditures, reports.

Most importantly the Budget Committee wants answers to their simple questions.

There was nothing derogatory..simply a public service announcement.

The Selectmen are on budget schedule and this year the budget process is going to be far smoother then previous years. We will have the budgets voted on and budget books ready for the budget committee and for the public by the date we had given.

We have made significant cuts already and are reviewing budgets with department heads to make sure the townspeople and budget committee get a fair budget to vote on.

I am sure we are going to vote on a new fire truck again. Can someone from the FD tell us how many times every truck they have was needed on a call. Not how many calls it went on and just stood by, but that they physically needed the truck. This will help us make a reasonable decision. I see they have fires and then read some of them were extinquished and no truck was used, but it still goes as a building fire.

The more info we can get, the better decision we can make.
