Me, also watch the video where jason is explaining weeks before the vote the enterprise account for the rec and rescue and tony bragg asks for wording changes. Yes mr gilpatrick may have told you it was changed at the last minute, but watch the video – you cant change history. His problem is he never seems to move on even when he appears to be wrong

  2. Rocket Scientist says:

I thought they already had info on the “flier” and that everyone asked said it wasn’t campaign literature and was the same thing that judy did the year before. Again, spreading false rumors to discredit people.

  3. chris gilpatrick says:

taxpayer, rocket scientist or any other name you want to post under except your real name to hide in the shadows why not disclose your real name or ashamed of other shenanigans you just got caught doing with the taxpayers money.grow a backbone and step up to the plate with whats happening in town instead of telling everyone to move on to coverup whats happening.how can you discredit someone when they sneak behind taxpayers back and try to play the good guy but apparently this is far from the truth.didn’t take long in the apprentice program to learn the perks of the job!!

  4. jasoncole says:

I am not sure why the selectmens flier we sent out is still being an issue, it has already been decided it wasn’t. I advised you how to get a hold of the YC District Attorney who can look into the concerns. It was not campaign literature as we talked about on the phone and email.

I am happy to log in and it saves my name, so I am not sure who you are referring to, nor do I care. I am sad that I heard from several people that said that because of events leading up to the election they had changed their mind on glen. I think Glen is a great guy and a good candidate.

I would love to know if you are refering to me in the above posting what I am doing with taxpayer money.

Taxpayer, yes, I do have a wonderful attorney and you are correct, liebel comments do cause harm.

  5. jasoncole says:

    Rocket scientist,

The flier issue has been discussed, a legal opinion obtained and it was not campaign materials.

This just all breaks my heart. This website was designed to bring people together for a better Lebanon. Instead it has turned into not knowing who to believe in, or losing site of your own beliefs.

My husband and I have been through a horrific ordeal, almost losing our land, then our home. Our Constitutional Right to life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness has almost been destroyed, because of what has happened to us.

When I learned of this site, I finally thought that this was where we could share our experiences, strengths, and hopes.

I know the election was a tough blow for all of us, but we cannot let it pull us apart. We have to come together and trust in one another, in order to do the next right thing. Please, please, stop the bickering – we aren’t accomplishing anything.

  8. jasoncole says:

I am hoping that people work TOGETHER and we can accomplish some great things. I think Glen and Chris both are great people and if we could all focus on moving forward, I think we could continue to make our great town even better.

I am sorry if I come across as harsh, its been a very long couple weeks with the loss of my grandmother and also the stress of needing to get the vote out for the ambulance and rescue budget.

  9. whatever says:

It is so nice to see that there are more pople seeing things that are wrong. It is funny when one person is put in her place all of a sudden she is a victum. You have bashed more then one person on here look at your posts of the past. Also I think more light needs to be brought to the confilct of intrest. How do you abstained from one vote because you are part of that department. Then vote on the fire truck, should you of abstained from that all so? Then after all is said your time was spent on rescue, is that not conflict of intrest? Are you to support all the people of Lebanon? Also why do you just tell half the story? The truck would of raised taxes by only 10 to 20 dollors per household. Now the money that rescue takes in that is the towns, a source of revenue of the town. Now can be spent anyway that department see fit. Rescue is not self funded. It uses town equipment to serve the town equals town money. Oh if you have not noticed I’m back

  10. Mare says:

Not knowing the exact numbers rescue has but knowing they are very high, I feel it serves the town better to have 3 rescue vehicles available for transportation of patients. Many times other towns have had to come in and transport because of the only one of Leb Rescues ambulance was at a call. I look at this as…”It could be your life or someone close to you that might be saved because it took 15 minutes to get another ambulance over to a call in Lebanon.”
Obvioulsy the town felt the need was there for another ambulance. The voted for it strongly. They are fortunate to volunteer and have a great group that put in many hours and they bill of the service. Fire on the other hand has it tougher. They are supported by the town. I do wonder if there is not some way to raise money for the Fire Department to help with a new truck. Food for thought…. little steps can make huge leaps. I see Rescue finds many grants for equiptment. Is there not something out there for Fire Departments?
Any response from some Fire Department folks on this?

  11. Mare says:

OOPS>. SORRY ERROR… make that 2 RESCUE VEHICLES FOR TRANSPORT
    Sorry

  12. striveforchange says:

    Whatever:

I am not sure what your problem really is? You will NOT discourage me by coming at me. If you want to do this because it makes you feel better about yourself, then have at it!!!!!
I have apologized to you many times and WILL NOT DO SO ANYLONGER.
We are ALL victims because of the corruption that is taking place in our town. I am allowed to share my experience strength and hope.

God Bless you and everyone for trying to make this a better place to live!!!!!!!!

  13. JasonCole says:

    whatever,

i am glad your back, it makes more people see your true colors and those of your department also.

The people spoke, almost 3 to 1, that they favored the new ambulance. They voted down the fire truck, time to move on. I also know several people that voted for the fire truck as they thought the fire and rescue were one department and that the department needed the fire truck. I am not sure, but I don’t think they will vote for the fire truck next time. The more you post here, the more the chances of that!

It is because of people like you that we do not move on in this town. I should say that the majority of the town (as obvious by the vote) supports the rescue and maybe a few people who visit here to bash everything don’t.

Strive is a good person who wants to help the community. You should not bash her for her opinion.

A lot of great people who used to post and participate in this site now refuse to look at it, which is sad.

Whartever/whatever, maybe you should come to the goal workshop and share your ideas, besides hiding behind a fake name.

    me,

during the tape of the discussion of the no spray, they said they paid it this year (which will show in next years town report) I think it was Jason that said it hadnt been paid in the previous 2 years but they paid almost 10 this year,

FYI – watch the video before saying false info
I was basing my comment on the annual report that said no money was spent for the year ending june 30th. I was under the impression this listed all money spent upto june 30th. Am I wrong? was there money spent before june 30th that is not in this report?

  15. Me says:

    striveforchange
Sorry we got off to a bad start. lets put it behind us and work together. Do not give up hope things can and will get better.

  16. JasonCole says:

I did say that for the previous couple of years there was no money spent and that this current year we spent almost 10,000. That is why we lowered it to 10,000 from the 12,000 they had been raising.

Me, the town report vendors and salaries are for fiscal year 08-09. Next years will have 09-10. We cannot post 09-10 before the year ends, that is why the annual report is for info the previous fiscal year.

  17. Me says:

    Jason
I Guess my question should have been addressed to you. He said you said the town paid 10,000 on no spray this year in the budget committee meeting. if you did say it can you just verify this and if it was paid prior to june 30th should it appeared in the town report?

  18. JasonCole says:

If you watch the videos, you will see that the enterprise account was mention a couple times before the vote, and there was discussion about it and there was alternative language proposed and done. it WAS NOT CHANGED the night of the vote. More mis-leading info to try to cause hate and discontent on false info.

  19. Me says:

    You post too fast
Thank you for the answer. I overlooked the fact the report is 1 year behind. That would answer alot of my questions.

  20. Me says:

I will check the videos Thank you.
I will give you credit and everyone here should to for the fact you will take the time to come here and justify your answers and share your opinions.

  21. Me says:

For anyone here to the fire department who is upset they did not get their new truck. the vote was close. take the upcoming year to really reach the people. The rescue put out good justification for what they wanted. They sent out flyers with good info and it was well explained. They took the time to come to this website and answer any questions asked. They ran a letter to the editor in the fosters. They took the time to reach as may people as they could and justified their need. To the average Joe their reasoning made sense. The fire department also sent out a flyer.
In 2009 the fire department went on 268 calls but only took the engine they want to replace on 60 calls. out of those 60 calls everything went on 11. The major repairs seemed minor compared to the cost of a new truck. From the town report. NFPA recommends replacing fire apparatus at 20 years. Does this mean we should also replace Engine 5 and The forestry truck? Better justification and reaching more people might have swayed a few more people. If you were at a call with engine 2 and a second call came in why not take engine 6 or engine 5? How many Engines does one town need? What happens to the old Engine? Are all Engines the same? They all seem to have the same pump Capacity. Are they all at the same station? Tell the voters why you need it?
Get your flyer put together ahead of time show it to a town voter and ask their opinion of it and weather they would vote es or no and why. Ask people here why they voted no? A large majority of voters never even voted find a way to get them to vote.

  22. Me says:

The questions above on the fire truck were examples. I didn’t post them to start an argument.

  23. striveforchange says:

    ME:

It is ok I appreciate that.Shaking Me’s hand now lol. I’d kiss ya but not sure if your a female or male lmao. Oh I think I need a nap……..
I’m a nice person just ask me I’ll tell ya lol as I am sure you are also…………

  24. chris gilpatrick says:

if taxpayer or jason cole read post #20 i never said jason had the rescue rig as was posted at #28 so read the post.it never was answered who wrote the flyer that was sent through the mail.why was the flyer removed from the town hall because it looked political in nature or is laura bragg a liar as i am?sorry to step on your toes.i am posting this under my own name as well without a fake posting name.

  25. chris gilpatrick says:

jason you continually tell people to move on yet you sit and berate the fire department and their volunteers(post #113).why keep discouraging voters and residents with your remarks about this department? there must be a goal you are striving to achieve with your comments and actions.maybe you could explain them to the people who elected you as this seems to be a conflict with you and the fire department.

  26. jasoncole says:

I voted the same way you did Chris on the fire truck. I voted for the fd budget and have always supported them. When they had their dinner I brought 50 worth of pies. During the previous town meeting I commended them. I volunteered for 15 years on the fd. Funny, I remember some things you have mentioned about them now that I think of it. The fact is we couldn’t afford higher taxes this year. Next year hopefully the economy is better.

But, I voted the same exact way you and glen did

  27. chris gilpatrick says:

i have never berated or belittled a volunteer in this town as you have done when whatever posts here.i am not an elected selectman as you are.what is the true colors of our fire department as you’ve stated many times?your post to encourage the referendums for rescue to pass why isn’t this a conflict when you are a selectman and assistant chief?why didn’t you write a post for the fire department budget or any other department to have theirs pass as well?why hasn’t the flyer writer answered?

  28. striveforchange says:

Is there going to be a selectman’s meeting Tuesday night? I know they had an executive session on the tenth. The other thing I don’t understand is WHY they had to elect a chairman BEFORE the elections? I think that was just plain silly. There are ALOT of unanswered questions. Will we EVER get answers, at least straight honest answers? Not sure. I guess I know in my heart probably not.

I am just saying how I feel and not trying to belittle anyone, or defame anyone. Please just know that we on this site DO CARE AND ONLY WANT GOOD!

  29. jasoncole says:

Strive, the selectmen usually vote in May for the next year. Yes we had an executive session on the 10th and yes we have a meeting on the 15th at 6:30.

What are the other unanswered questions?

  30. jasoncole says:

    Chris,

I did not belittle whatever or any other firefighter – nice try!

I spoke in favor of many issues, the library, the recreation, summer rec, etc – When I was elected selectmen by the people, that did not take away my right to say my opinion. I thanked the firefighters, EMA and rescue for their work during the storms – I wrote letters to the editor for the same – So, am I not allowed to express my personal opinion? So I cannot post when I have a feeling something should pass?

Didnt you post when you thought the fire truck shouldn’t pass? Didn’t you post your feelings against the rescue budget question? Aren’t you an elected official? Dont you make you feelings known every 10 seconds about one tons and the road budget and your an elected official? Is it different because I am a selectman? You never can seem to move on from issues under road commissioners over a decade ago. What is the difference in your elected position then mine, you have more rights to express your opinion?

  31. striveforchange says:

Are you going to find out about where the wood went. (Shouldn’t be posted here but is a question none the less) Did you talk to the land owner today? (should’nt be posted on this article lol)

Many others have asked questions if you read back. What is going on? I guess I don’t understand what all has transpired …..

  32. jasoncole says:

The tree cutting in the village is being dealt with and better communication will take place. Unlike what Mr. Gilpatrick said above, the road commissioner handles his job – he does not need the selectmen to do his job – we sign the bills when they come in and we approve the bids. I personally will make sure the landowner knows before anything like this happens. The road commissioner had the tree cut for public safety and we will work on a policy for that.

  33. jasoncole says:

If anyone wants to contact me, please feel free to contact me at (207) 608-5615 or lebanonnews1@yahoo and I would be happy to talk with you. I am sad that this site has turned into a site that will bring people back to the history and not move forward. We have a lot of good people in town and they have encouraged me not to post on this site as it only brings people back to things in the past. The people have spoken on the budgets, its time to move on – please feel free to contact me anytime or come to the Facebook site

    JasonCole // Jun 12, 2010 at 9:12 am

    whatever,

i am glad your back, it makes more people see your true colors and those of your department also.

    What were you saying again?

So I\’ll ask you selectman Cole what are there true colors. Since I know I won\’t get an answer from you I\’ll tell toy red, white and blue. the men and women of the fire department are undaunted and untiring despite the fire truck not passing on the ballots. Yet you never see them on here swaying public opinion.
I am also disappointed that taxpayer hasn\’t recently posted i wanted to congratulate them on their shameless use of pseudonyms to pass their political propaganda. maybe I\’ll hear from them in the future but I doubt it know that this new login system is on this site. As far as moving forward this is a brilliant way to skirt around questions that have never been answered. hard to move forward when there is still no resolution to previously answered questions. To me this isn\’t about trees, or budgets it’s about ethics, the trees and budgets and what have you are all formalities. I thinks this town has a serious problem with accountability and always have. I hope to see some answers at the selectman meeting so the road agent and selectmen can lay all of these questions to rest. Until then i fear this town is destined to repeat the same history over again.

  35. striveforchange says:

What this is all about is the fact of doing the RIGHT and legal and morally ethical thing rather than doing things the way you want inorder to achieve your OWN agenda. Whatever that might be. The thing I really hate is when the town government and selectmen say the law is up for interpretation when its truly not. The laws are written for a reason and should be followed. Why aren’t they? You decide………..
I am getting sick of people finding loop holes and omitting facts in order to conceal what the truth really is. “Omitting the truth is the same as telling a lie”

  36. Me says:

I am glad you do take the time to post on this site. I hope you will continue to post here. I guess it is up to everyone to weed through the rumors and arguing . Some things that seem like arguing are just expressing their their point of view. Remember if no one in this town complained then either this town would be perfect and could not be improved or the people gave up and nobody cares anymore. I think it shows alot of people still care about this town and their citizens. After all it would be alot easier just to give up and not be involved.

  37. jr says:

I am still waiting for a response as to the legal firm that was contacted about the flier and gave the nod. Maybe it was the Justice League, they’re not for profit right?

  38. jr says:

    jasoncole // Jun 11, 2010 at 9:18 pm

    Rocket scientist,

The flier issue has been discussed, a legal opinion obtained and it was not campaign materials.

Didn’t answer my question or a few other s on the matter!!!!

  39. pat says:

i saw the flier in the ballot that came to my house, it didn;t look like a campaign thing. it didnt say anything about re-electing selectmen frizel?

More of people who obviously have too much time on their hands sitting around and sayi9ng things about th0se that are doing things.

  40. pat says:

jr, i just read your response to jason – dont you think you should talk to the other selectmen and budget committee members including chris gilpatrick and glen stadig that voted against the fire truck. I may not agree with how they voted, but at least they stood up for what they believed in. I agree also that I could not afford a tax increase.

  41. pat says:

The more I read this ignorance the more I understand why people do not like a lot of people in this group – if you had anything positive to say, it would be a miracle –

I applaud jason for coming on here and giving his opinion – jason, dont give up, this 1/4 of 1 percent of the population doesnt matter.

  42. jr says:

I dont know which post you are referring to? and whats all this about ignorance? I never said anything negative and praised both the rescue and LFD. Maybe you need glasses? As far as someone being cut from the town hall the selectmen OK’d this route instead of cutting from other budgets which the budget committee had recommended. Dont call me ignorant when the truth stares you square in the nose yet you are too blind to see. I never said anything negative about selectman Cole and applaud his communication with the people. Though I did request answers for questions that remain unanswered. As far as people not liking me check my social networking site I have a TON of online friends.

  43. striveforchange says:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Maybe it doesn’t make sense to some and maybe it does. None the less they are entitled to share it here. Most say how they feel and tell the truth. That’s why some don’t like coming here. They don’t want to hear the truth that is going on in our town.
I don’t like the bantering between the rescue and fire, I think that really hurt this site. Other than that its good I think.

  44. Pat Allard says:

@pat….you say “this 1/4 of 1 percent of the population doesn’t matter”. Why is that? I don’t agree with some of the comments made on this site, but I certanily wouldn’t be so pompous as to say the person making the comment “doesn’t matter”. EVERY citizen in Lebanon matters, regardless of their opinion.

  45. jr says:

    pat // Jun 13, 2010 at 6:28 pm

even though i work that night, i agree with Me that roads should be a priority. Also a better fire and rescue station for those men and women

I thought you said we couldnt afford a tax hike? A public safety building would be nice but the 2-6 million dollar price tag is a little more than the three to four hundred thousand dollar fire truck proposed at the time of voting. I guess I dont understand the rationale, maybe an explanation would help?

  46. Mare says:

I thought I was keeping up with most of the comments here. I must have missed some. What number is the comment that refers to a “A public safety building would be nice but the 2-6 million dollar price tag ”

I don’t mean the one that is #146 by jr at 6:29 June 14th.

I surely must have missed something.

    Can I have a clue??

  47. chris gilpatrick says:

i believe they were referring to pat posting on the community meeting about wanting a new public safety building but complained on the new fire truck.pat wants to keep their taxes low but wants a nice new shiny building.the swamp palace cost about 1/2 million so i’m sure we could build a new building for 2 million.(to start it anyway)

  48. Mare says:

Thank you Chris. No worries about that building and expenditure happening. Their are too many other things that are needed in town. Key word – needed. I see no upturn in the economy yet. We still have to tighten the budget belt.

  49. Andy H says:

I dont think rescue wants a new building – look at all the work they have done to their station that was abandoned to make it better.

sounds like someone is spreading more lies, but what would we expect from this site!
