In the Town Report and as observed during the present budget process wages are displayed for town employees. The wages as listed do not include taxes and or benefits and retirement expenses. The town pays these on behalf of the employee and is an expense that should be displayed and tracked accordingly. These totals should include Wages, Taxes, Bonuses, Misc. Pay, Benefits, Retirement Payments, the Works. As we all know taxes and benefits are a significant expense and I know my w-2 includes this information. I think we deserve the complete picture…What is your view?

I noticed that in Milton, the town clerk, and other office workers are voted in. How come we don’t do this? The town office workers have been there since time began. Don’t you think this needs to be changed?

you know our elected officials are all about transparency but,how much is enough!!do residents REALLY need to know how much this actually costs.due to the way we do our accounting this info is probably hard to find but they’ll look into it and get back to you if you ask for months on the same question.

Claire,
The municipal officials are all appointed, with the exception of the Selectmen, Budget Committee and Road Commissioner. This is something that was done a long time ago when they went from elected to appointed.
