Communications This Week:
This was a hard week for Lebanon Residents. Longtime Lebanon Resident Arthur
Wyman passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday at home. The family is grateful for
everyone that responded to the call and for the flowers the rescue sent. It is always
difficult to respond to these calls when it is someone we knew and Arthur was a
wonderful man who supported us and did a lot for his community. Our thoughts and
prayers are with Nancy and the family during this difficult time.
Past Weeks Events:
Sunday, November 15th : Lebanon Rescue announced its new Facebook website. In the first
few days, we had over 230 “friends” add the page. We keep the page up to date with important
town information and also department updates. Click on the Lebanon Rescue website to get the
link.
Monday, November 16th : Greenwood Emergency Vehicles/E-One/Horton came to the station
to demo a new ambulance. This new ambulance had the EMT protection system in the back
that we are looking at. It is not the same chassis we are looking at, but it did show what we are
looking at for the patient/EMT Compartment. Everyone really seemed to like the ambulance.
Wednesday, November 18th: The new EMS first response vehicle graphics were completed
and the vehicle placed into service!
Thursday November 19th: The State Electrical Inspector and the local electrician installing the
new generator at the station toured the station to get ready for the install.
Friday November 20th: The water pipes had to be dug up and replaced due to no water.
Thanks to everyone involved from the highway crew to the rescue personnel for getting the job
completed so quickly.
Saturday November 21st: Lebanon Rescue hosted an Ambulance Vehicle Operators Course
at the station starting at 8am. Several area towns also attended. Congratulations to Sam Roper
and Seth Bougie for passing the class. Thanks to Asst Chief Cole, Rob Karwansky and Lt. Kevin
Romano for helping the 3 other instructors. The class went very well!
Patient Correspondence
We received four great patient surveys this week – excellent work!!
We received a very nice letter from residents who own a house on the lake in Lebanon but live
in Connecticut. They put, “We have a second home in Lebanon. I want you to know that each
time we visit our Maine home, we feel securely protected by your volunteers. They spend much
of their time in training and in helping the community. Lebanon would not be such a safe, secure
place if it weren’t for you. Thank you for all you do for Lebanon.” I will post this letter with the
others at the station.
We received 5 other letters from residents thanking the volunteers for all they do for the
community in response to the recent letter to the editor in the Sanford News.
We also received a few great letters and thank you cards and emails.
Vehicle Maintenance Issues:
The new EMS first response vehicle graphics were completed & the vehicle placed into service!
On Friday, the ambulance had its annual DMV inspection and has a new sticker.
