After receiving an email from Jason Cole, I sat down and did my best to send a Letter to the Editor in Fosters. There is a letter dated 10/29/09 from Robie Marsters stating he commended the two selectmen for not letting the rescue squad get a new ambulance. Jason stated the volunteers were discouraged by this. I truly hope others will take time out to write to Fosters and let them know how much a dependable ambulance is truly needed for the rescue squad to continue their good work and how much we appreciate our volunteers.
I think it is appalling that someone would write an article without getting all the facts together. My opinion is that this article was written by someone with a grudge either against the Rescue Squad or the Assistant Chief. If so it seems a poor way to air his grievances.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion over the Citizen’s Petitions. Some may favor a Town Manager and or Ambulance other may not…it’s all o.k.
The issue is Selectmen Patch and Frizzell didn’t allow the people the opportunity to Vote even though certified Petitions were presented. In fact Selectmen Patch and Frizzell went out of their way to make a late decision to not have the Municipal Ballot and ultimately going against our Budget Committees requirement to revisit budget items not approved by residents in June.
Residents in our Town need to take notice and demand their voice be heard.
I read that editorial and what a slam it was to the volunteers who help us everyday. It was obvious that Mr Marsters has bad personal feelings. We are so lucky to have these people in our town volunteering. To all the rescue personnel out there, you are the best of the best and do not let one uninformed resident who is trying to mislead the public make you feel any different.
Keep up the great work
very well put
