In my preparation for the Citizen Roundtable, on July 1st at the Old Town starting at 6:30 pm, I came across a document called “What is a Selectman?”. After scanning all the pages and attempting to create a decent pdf, I came across a posting by Dick Neal, a former Acton Selectman, his website, memunigov.com has a much nicer, updated version of “What is a Selectman”.
Please take the time to review this if you can before the Citizens Roundtable and take note of every time it mentions by ordinance or charter….. it should make you realize just like ordinances, a charter can give structure and direction to the way this town could be run.
