I read what you had to say and it all sounds good. We definitely need change here in this Town, but what I have found out is that people need to stop complaining and do something about what is going on here. Don’t run away with your tail between your legs and just give in. Stand up and fight for your rights as a resident. This Town is run by the good ole boys and a family that has been here for decades. Good luck to you and we will be voting for you. We got a call from your apponent asking for us to vote for him………. I DONT THINK SO
Why is your opponent really getting back into town politics ? Is it to better the town ? This is very doubtful . Did he see there are over twenty-five houses in our town that have been foreclosed on and he wants to help these residents ? This is very doubtful . Maybe looking to acquire them before the banks take them . Isn’t this how his other properties were acquired ? This man is a true politician . Didn’t he resign due to health reasons ? Did sitting at the dump with his wife cure his condition ? Wasn’t he the one who helped jack up the taxes before he resigned ? Wasn’t his right hand man the “general contractor ” on building the SWAMP PALACE ? The budget committee he helped appoint weren’t they a bunch of yes men for the three stooges ? Didn’t everything presented get the rubber stamp treatment ? Check past town reports for evidence of this . Hasn’t he TAKEN enough without giving back as well as others associated with him ? Keep the chair at the dump warm with your wife there is a better candidate available !!!!!
We need to get rid of the good ole boys that have been running our town, or nothing will change. It has been the same for years. I am for Mr. Stadig and will be voting for him. Maybe I didn’t make that clear. I have only been here for 9 years. I know much of what is going on in Lebanon, and I don’t like it one bit. We have to live with the conditions our town employees have created right now, and have suffered greatly because of it. Not only do we need fresh selectmen, but the town committees need to be changed, with new faces and new ideas. This includes the Budget Committee, PLANNING BOARD, Code Enforcement and on and on. IT IS THE YEAR FOR CHANGE, LET”S DO IT.
I can only agree with the above posts. The days of the good ol’ boys and favortism is over. It is 2009 not 1959. Times have changed and we need and NEW faces in town politics and others will follow in this path.
After reading the article regarding Patch, Stadig running for Selectman, my Decision on who to VOTE for is clear as it can be…. Mr. Stadig You have My Vote!!! I was not born and raised in Lebanon but I love this town just as much as someone that was born and raised here and I believe Mr. Stadig feels the same way. His dedication to providing the Citizens of Lebanon as much information as possible goes beyond just being a Citizen but one that truly Loves and Believes in his Town! His actions to take on the “Small Town” politics and stand up for what is Right for “All” of Lebanon’s Citizens not just the few that have fattened their wallets on TAX PAYERS HARD Earned Dollars says a lot about him. Mr. Patch states there is “No” nepotism but lists a whole resume of family currently working or have worked or held office in town. (I find it funny there was no mention of his wife working at the Transfer Station) Mr. Patch says there is No need to have a Conflict of Interest policy in place is Exactly why we are in this horrible position, Good Ole’ Boys helping each other out! SHAMEFUL! Mr. Patch says he’s concerned over the HUGE property tax increase we had in “08″ but sees No need to change!! Mr. Patch wants to take the Power from the Citizens and have a Budget Committee appointed instead of Elected (of course he does) and Mr. Patch says there is No Nepotism in town?? Mr. Patch wants to burden the Tax Payers with another secretary at the Town Hall instead of a Professional Town Manager who can write grants and bring in MUCH needed Benefits and Funding to Our Town. Mr. Patch sees nothing wrong with how the new Town Hall was budgeted and constructed with exception to the parking lot!! Are you SERIOUS??!! Mr. Patch stick to delivering baskets you have had your time. It’s time for a New Fresh Lebanon Town Government… A Town Government voted in by the People for the People! Good Luck Mr. Stadig I’m standing behind you all the way.
No nepotism? No need to have a Conflict of Interest Policy? Our Planning Board Chairman’s family owns 7,000+ acres of land here in Lebanon. One of his brothers owns the lumber mill, and the other runs an excavating company. His cousin, Brian Rainaud is Code Enforcement officer. A person who wants to have a home here has to buy land from them, have them clear it, mill the lumber, and inspect the construction. Can you spell monopoly? Seems to be a nice tidy package???
OH PLEASE.
We need the people of Lebanon, through the selectman, to stand up for their rights and take CHARGE.
This is 2009 not 1939. When will the citizens decide they’ve had enough?
after reading the article i find it funny mr. patch s only problem with the town hall is the parking lot is too small!! what about being thousands of dollars over budget ? where is the conference room that was brought up at meetings ?? what about the thousands taken out of the contigency fund to pay for furniture ? where’s the basement so the town could of had a nice walkout entrance to house our library instead of building a whole new building ? where’s the sprinkler system to protect all the valuable items located there ? on and on , but the parking lot is too small ??!!
I like the policy, glad they finally did it
Good luck Mr Stadig, it is nice to see our town moving away from the “good ole boy” club and to a more people government. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it seems to be better.
Maybe Mr.Patch is onto something about a town administrator instead of a town manager . If elected he could appoint Mrs. Patch for this job . As past history shows she has experience in handling town money . Put the cash in HER mattress and just show the check transactions !! What a great idea and I’m sure there is another selectman that would vote with Mr. Patch if he got his share of the take . Wasn’t she hired at the dump to collect the cash that flows thru there also ?
You know, there is an old saying “Ya don’t S**t where you eat, greed is a powerful demon. It’s been going on for so long in this town, that it has become accepted and a way of life. Instead of just complaining about what is going on why don’t people get involved and take extra time to make this town a better place to live. It is beautiful here and I have met some wonderful people. But things need to change………
strivefor change – great saying, my husband says that all the time and it is so true. The PATCH’S can stay at the dump and keep it under control and away from the town hall!
I noticed that selectmen meetings are held in the vestuble in the town hall. No conference room?????? All that money and we don’t have crap to show for it???? The parking lots to small. There’s ALOT more problems than the parking lot!!!!! Get these idiots out of office. Next they will want additonal funds to “expand” the town hall and Mr. Frizzell will get to do the work! Im going with MR. STADIG, anyone with a brain will vote for MR. STADIG.
Thanks Danielle – It will take a long time for things to change here in Lebanon, but it can be done if people take the time out of their buzy life to do so. Don’t be afraid to stand up for what is right and good STRIVE FOR CHANGE…………….
Glen-
I’ve emailed you but it went unanswered. My column needs to come off your site immediately per Fosters Daily Democrat. It’s a copyright issue.
Karen
Karen,
I removed the link to the Foster’s article as requested.
I never received an email from you at work before 3:35pm today and none have been sent to my primary email as personally provided to you.
I am not sure how linking to another website is considered a copyright issue, since it is done all the time and commonplace. I am not hosting the information and I am not copying anyone’s work. I am simply sending people to the Foster’s website to view the article.
I felt it was important to provide the “link” to residents who are unaware of it so they could see it and get an another perspective and learn about the candidates. I am sure while the residents are there they also took advantage to view the other local news and events.
Glen,
I wasn’t aware of it either, but my editor asked me to have you take it down, so I did. Sorry I didn’t have your home number to call you.
Karen,
I have put a call in to the paper to get clarification on their policy regarding linking and am awaiting a response. I have conducted some research and see no issue if you look at this information http://www.cybertelecom.org/ip/link.htm – particularly the section on “Deep Linking”.
Further, there are many other websites, some non-profit like “OurVoice” and some for profits that link directly to Foster’s articles, including those of our own Town.
The timing of this request just seems peculiar….I need to get a definitive answer for my own edification for my future articles going forward. I will share what I learn with the other Town websites as well so we are all good webizens.
The whole issue looks peculiar . Is the Fosters now viewing your website to get town news and updates ? Sounds more like Mr. Patch had his hand in on this . Karen , pull your head out of his arse and stop acting like your unbiased about this election . Stop bitching about the conflict policy if it bothers you that much , resign !! Meetings of the budget committee show you acting nothing more than a drama queen !! And it’s plain to see where you get it from !! Sorry, the truth of the Patchs are finally out for everyone to see the truth , which you seem to want to keep in the closet .
I spoke with the editor at the Fosters Daily Democrat and he explained he was misinformed and did not realize it was a hyperlink to fosters.com that was in my article. It was explained differently to him. There is no issue of copyright and no desire on his part or the Fosters Daily Democrat to impact the election whatsoever.
So those of you who had concerns over the linking to other sites, you may link your website, it is fine like mine, no troubles, link away. The copyright issue is a non-issue.
Wonder who the fountain of misinformation was ? Someone trying to tip the scale in your opponents direction ? Obvious when there is not a problem with this site running other articles until the candidate article appeared . No response from our town correspondent on this ??
The Fosters article remained on line, my article remained online. I am not going to press it. It is history, I should have left it up and alone knowing to myself there was truly no issue.
SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
I WONDER WHO SHE VOTED FOR
