No problem at all. I encourage anyone with issues to please come forward so I can try to help. They can always call my cell phone 608-5615 or email me.

I think we live in a great community and we all need to work together to make it the best possible!

I do apologize I had to go back and look and it was the vendors list. I also apologize for coming across like I am totally against the Town of Lebanon which I am not. My family and I have been through so much because of certain ones here in Town that I guess I am just venting at anything. Again, I do apologize.

I think the town report is much of a change for the better, with salaries and vendor lists, etc included. I added the pictures for historical reasons and to give credit to those who volunteer

I did the town report, and am confused by Strive saying that there are advertisements through out it?

Just because the Town Report's format has changed and it's bigger than ever before isn't an indication that it has become better, or more comprehensive. Isn't the old saying, "Quantity doesn't mean quality"?
I see alot of advertisements in the town report. I certainly hope that those advertisers had to give a donation, or pay the town for the space. Why bother to advertise, the good old boys have all the jobs sewed up anyway. I have to agree though, the fire department helps wherever they can and does the very best they can for us.
The roads commission is another story, however. Dumping a little asphalt into the the potholes a few times a year, so that the plows and log trucks can rip it out again after the next rain or snow storm, now thats job security.
I'm really not complaining, I'm just so tired of the "left handed" way that some things are done around here.
I agree with Corrina and many of the others who have said we should get up out of our recliners and get involved.

Corinna, I know so much of what you have been trying to do for this town. My husband has told me many things as to what has been going on here for decades . Its hard to believe they are still going on.......Lebanon has experienced much, but it is very frustrating to know that town government is so apathetic to the needs of the residents. Let's get to work to improve our town. I'm ready, how about everyone else?

Totally off subject, but I am really glad to see so many familiar names on these blogs!!! A lot of you were involved in the original Lebanon Citizens for Better Government. I have been sitting here for over 3 hours just reading.

I was very discouraged that Glen did not get elected, but very encouraged to see the input this site is creating.

The original Citizens group all but disbanded because of lack of participation and look where that has gotten us we are back where we started. With a Selectman who has been there before.

I really hope the Citizens Roundtable comes to fruition. Those citizens who courageously participated before in our meetings and those interested in change today need to get involved!!! We cannot afford to slip backwards anymore.

Agreed. I get stuff to post all the tiem from Rescue, but I never get anything to post from Fire. I think it is becasue they ahve their own site.

But they should still send it to the town for recognition. I'll post anything on the towns site that is legit and legal, just to promote a town member. Why not?

no matter how much you try, some one will find fault - no one appreciates the people that help the community - look at our fire and rescue people, they work out of junk stations and fight to get anything, but they give so much.

Just to clarify.... I volunteered to do the wiring for my cost of parts and volunteer my time.

I would never do that because you can not make and money.

I did it because it was going to be done by the electricians and it was going to be a bad job. I went around with them about how it should be done, and they did not have the expertise. But the selectman in charge of the plan at that time was determined, so I told him I would do it that way so it would be done right.

If it had been done that way they wanted, the building would already have been hacked up to support the new equipment because they were not putting in enough jacks. In the end, there would havebeen even more cost over runs.

When they asked me why I would do that, I told them it was so it would be right and also I pay taxes in this town and did not want my rate to go up.

Some other time I will tell you what happened on the actual job to all the contractors and why it cost the town more than it shoud have.

from what I have heard, they have been trying to get out of the phone contract and security contract but are tied because of previous selectmens actions.

It looks like they are trying
